Sarah poses for a photo with American exchange students from St. Louis, Missouri.
On Friday 22 January, Sarah Ludford spoke to a group of American university students from Washington University in St Louis, Missouri on an exchange. The students then went on to take a tour of the House of Lords, and the following week to visit the European institutions in Brussels.
Sarah said:
"As the vicechair of the European Parliament's delegation to the United States, I take an active interest in the EU-US relationship. Student exchanges are always a very effective way of encouraging understanding and partnership between two countries, and should be encouraged. American students in particular are always very keen to learn about the peculiarities of the British system, or marvel at the ambition of the European project - both of which I am very proud of!"
